Shipping Policy

Please note that My Guitar Shop SA only delivers within South Africa and orders are only shipped once full payment has been received. 

How much does shipping cost?

Free Shipping on all orders of R1000 or more. 

A standard/flat shipping rate of R100 applies to all orders that are less than R1000.

These rates apply to orders anywhere in South Africa. Delivery is via door to door courier, directly to the physical address provided by the customer. Should the courier for any reason not be able to deliver/access the location provided by the customer, we will contact the customer as soon as possible to make an alternative plan or delivery method. 

Shipping charges will be automatically applied to your cart at checkout.  

When will my order be shipped?

Please note that orders are only shipped once payment has been received and reflected in our bank account. The amount of time that it will take for the money to reflect is dependent on the payment method that the customer chooses when making a purchase. Any of the instant payment methods ie. Credit/Cheque cards, Instant EFT, should immediately clear into our account and the order will be packed and shipped at the soonest possible time (Dependent on stock availability).

If you are paying for an order via regular EFT (Direct Bank Transfer), it may take up to 2 working days for the payment to reflect depending on which bank you are with. When using this method, please be sure to email your proof of payment to

When will I receive my order?

If the products that have been ordered are in stock and payment has been received, delivery should take place in 1-3 working days from when the payment was received. This is also dependent on the location of the customer as well as payment method used for the purchase. (This delivery timeline does not apply to “Order Now/Import Products” Please read below).

Tracking numbers for all orders will be sent to the email address provided by the customer at checkout. You can easily track the whereabouts of your parcel on the tracking page of the given courier company. 

Please ensure that all shipping details and contact information provided at checkout are correct. This is to ensure that your order can be delivered to you as efficiently as possible without any issues along the way. 

Please make sure that somebody is available at the given address to sign for the delivery when it arrives. 

There may be certain instances where a third party delay arises on behalf of the courier company. These situations are unfortunately out of our control, however we will do whatever we can to assist in resolving the issue and ensure that the parcel/order is delivered to you at the soonest possible time.

Order Now (Import)” Products

There are certain products for sale on where stock is not readily available/accessible in South Africa, but can still be purchased on the site and imported from overseas by us on behalf of the customer. These are products that we do not currently have on hand/in stock in SA but are still available for the customer to purchase online. These products are easily recognizable by the “ORDER NOW (IMPORT)” button on the product page, and not the normal “add to cart” or “buy it now” buttons. 

As stated on the product pages, these import products are shipped to us (My Guitar Shop), by the supplier in 3-7 working days. The products are not shipped directly to the customer in this time period. Once the product arrives in South Africa and passes the relevant customs/clearance requirements we will ship the product directly to the customer.

The price seen on the product page is fully inclusive of all additional charges i.e. international shipping, Customs duties/Import tax. Free local shipping still applies to orders of R1000 or more, and the flat rate of R100 must still be paid if the order is less than R1000. Payment for "Order Now/Import" products is made in full and upfront by the customer just like any other online order. 

As soon as an import product is ordered and payed for on My Guitar Shop, we will contact the international supplier of the particular product within 1 working day from the time that the order was placed. There may be a short delay in response time from the supplier due to international time differences, depending on where the supplier is located. Should the supplier not have stock of the particular product or the product is unavailable for any reason, we will contact the customer immediately. In this instance we will offer the customer an alternative product should he/she be interested in anything else. Alternatively we will arrange either store credit or a full refund of the purchase amount. 

My Guitar Shop will handle all international payment and shipping arrangements required. This includes the customs clearance process should it be required. 
We will keep you updated and in the loop (via email or phone) throughout the entire process, ensuring international tracking updates are communicated with the customer as and when we have those details.
